About Over The Hill Gang
Established in 1974 in Southern California, Over The Hill Gang is one of the largest veteran motocross clubs in the country. With five chapters β South, Valley, Bay, Sierra, and Reno β the club welcomes racers aged 30 and older, offering a variety of rider classifications including Beginner, Novice, Intermediate, Expert, and Master. The Reno chapter is particularly notable as it is the third oldest chapter in the organization.
Racing typically occurs on Sundays, and the club encourages participation from the entire family by running support classes for all ages and abilities. This inclusive approach allows members to enjoy both Vet and support classes, maximizing the fun factor for everyone involved.
To ensure a competitive yet enjoyable experience, new members undergo a class evaluation during their first two events. Race directors monitor both new and current riders, ensuring proper class placement based on race finishes and lap times. Points are awarded during this evaluation period, contributing to year-end rankings celebrated at the annual Reno OTHG banquet.
Each chapter operates independently, hosting one National race per year, with separate national points maintained for year-end standings. The five-race series culminates in the prestigious National #1 title, allowing top riders to proudly display their achievements with a red background the following year.
