Our Story
In the late 1920s, a group of Ossining’s leading citizens recognized the need to preserve the town’s unique history. This vision led to the establishment of the Ossining Historical Society Museum in 1931, with Fanny Kane as its first president. The museum has evolved from a single room to three, showcasing a rich collection of artifacts, including the bell from the locomotive that carried Lincoln’s death train. Today, the museum continues to accept donations of photographs, books, and memorabilia, ensuring that Ossining's history is celebrated and preserved for future generations.
