Our Story

Founded in 2018, the Orton Gillingham Center of Charleston is dedicated to transforming literacy instruction in the Lowcountry. By elevating the Orton-Gillingham approach, OGC advocates for effective reading strategies and provides essential training for educators.

Impact

In 2022, only 26% of 8th graders in South Carolina were proficient readers. OGC is committed to changing this statistic by offering evidence-based reading instruction and training teachers in the Science of Reading.
