Our Story

The plight of children in crisis has always been a call to action for Janey DeMeo. Starting in England, she reached out to local children, teaching them the Bible. Her 22 years of missionary work in France led her to help neglected kids in the Projects, where she initiated a weekly club. Extensive travels unveiled the dire situations faced by children in Romania, Western Africa, Hungary, and Albania, prompting church prayer meetings for at-risk youth. The need became evident when Janey was given a struggling children’s home in India, leading to the birth of Orphans First.
