Our Story

The Orono Foundation for Education, formerly known as the Orono Alliance for Education, was established in 2000 through a collaborative effort of the Orono community, school board, and district administration. This partnership emerged in response to decreasing state funding, with parents uniting to raise funds to preserve vital educational programs.

Impact

Since its inception, the Foundation has successfully raised over $9 million, significantly contributing to the academic excellence of Orono Schools, which now ranks among the top districts in the nation.
