Founded in 1994 by six graduates from SUNY Maritime College, the Organization of Black Maritime Graduates aims to enhance educational opportunities for underserved students pursuing careers in the maritime industry. By focusing on mentorship and networking, OBMG is dedicated to increasing minority representation in this vital field.
Since its inception, OBMG has awarded 213 scholarships totaling $250,000, significantly contributing to the success of minority students in maritime professions.
