Our Story
The Organization for Refugee and Immigrant Success (ORIS) was established in 2005 by Somali Bantu refugees in New England. Originally known as the Somali Bantu Community Association, it was funded by the US Office of Refugee Resettlement to assist refugees in integrating into American culture. In 2011, the organization reformed as ORIS, broadening its mission and diversifying its staff and board to better serve new Americans.
Impact
ORIS plays a crucial role in the resettlement of refugees and immigrants in New Hampshire, providing essential assistance, training, and resources that promote self-sufficiency. Many new arrivals secure jobs within their first eight months, with ongoing support for their long-term integration into American society.
