Our Story

Founded in 2002 by Cathy & Bill Nechak, Sue Woodson, and Loretta Flemming, Oregon Friends of Shelter Animals (OFOSA) began at a kitchen table with a mission to combat the overpopulation of homeless dogs and cats. This foster-based animal rescue operates in the Portland, Oregon metro area, dedicated to finding loving homes for shelter pets.

Our Impact

Since its inception, OFOSA has saved over 20,500 shelter pets, significantly improving the welfare of homeless animals in the community.
