Our Story
The Oregon Executive Development Institute (OEDI) was established in 1989 by visionary leaders in public safety to address the critical need for leadership training among Oregon’s public safety executives. Recognizing that many agency heads could not afford prestigious programs like the FBI National Academy, OEDI was born from a partnership with the Oregon Public Safety Training Academy and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Over the years, OEDI has expanded its collaborations with key organizations, including the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST), the Oregon Sheriffs’ and Chiefs’ of Police Associations, and the Oregon State Police. Today, OEDI continues to provide exceptional executive leadership training, empowering public safety professionals to excel in their roles and serve their communities effectively.
