Our Story

The Oregon CASA Network was established to support the mission of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) who advocate for the best interests of children who have been abused or neglected. Since its inception in 1977, the program has expanded to nearly 1,000 local programs across the country, including 22 in Oregon, ensuring that every child in foster care has a dedicated CASA advocate.

Impact

In 2021, Oregon CASA Programs served 4,581 children, youth, and young adults experiencing foster care. With the help of 2,681 volunteers providing 200,995 service hours, children with CASA volunteers are less likely to suffer re-abuse and more likely to find a permanent home, spending an average of five months less time in foster care.
