Our Story

Oregon Black Pioneers is an educational nonprofit based in Salem, established in 1993. This organization is dedicated to preserving and presenting the experiences of African Americans in Oregon, using research, exhibitions, and public programs to tell the seldom-told stories of people of African descent in the state.

Impact

Oregon Black Pioneers has successfully raised nearly $10,000 through their Year End Campaign, marking the largest single campaign response in their history. This funding allows the organization to continue its vital work in preserving and presenting the Black Oregonian experience.
