Founded in 1933 by J.R.E. Lee Jr., the Orange Blossom Classic became a cornerstone event for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). After a 43-year hiatus, the Classic returned in 2021, revitalizing its mission to enhance HBCU exposure in Miami Gardens and raise scholarship funds for future leaders.
The Orange Blossom Classic generates tourism for South Florida, boosts economic growth for small businesses, and educates the community on the importance of HBCUs.
