Our Story

Founded in San Francisco in 2008, the Organization for Refuge Asylum & Migration (ORAM) is a pioneer in advocating for the protection and well-being of extremely vulnerable LGBTIQ refugees and asylum seekers worldwide. Over the last decade, ORAM has trained NGOs, governments, and the UNHCR on the unique protection needs of the severely marginalized LGBTIQ refugee population.

Our Impact

ORAM has provided 4,192 nights of safe short-term housing to LGBTIQ refugees in Kenya and Europe. Additionally, 195 LGBTIQ refugees have been trained in small business management and financial literacy, while 142 individuals received support to establish kitchen gardens, enhancing their access to diverse foods.
