Our Story

Founded in 1996 by Dr. Davida Coady, Options Recovery Services began as a diversion treatment program for the Berkeley courts. Over the years, it has evolved into a comprehensive model program that collaborates with the criminal justice system to tackle the root causes of crime, homelessness, and broken families. Serving over a thousand clients annually, Options provides essential substance use disorder treatment and recovery support across multiple clinics in Berkeley, Concord, Oakland, and San Leandro.

Impact

Options Recovery Services impacts nearly 1,000 adult clients each year, offering safe, drug-free recovery housing for up to 150 clients nightly. The organization also provides in-custody treatment and substance abuse counselor training for over 100 inmates at nine state prisons and one county jail, fostering a path to recovery and reintegration.
