Our Story

Founded in 1954 by Al and Dessie Bailey, Opportunity Village began as a grassroots effort to support their daughter Claudia, who has Down syndrome. What started in their living room has blossomed into a vital organization serving thousands of individuals with intellectual disabilities across Southern Nevada. Over the years, Opportunity Village has expanded its services from education to comprehensive vocational training and community support.
