Our Story
The Opioid Crisis Action Network was founded in January 2018 by Heather and Larry Arata after the tragic overdose death of their son, Brendan. This organization is dedicated to advocating for public policies that ensure individuals suffering from substance use disorder receive the medical treatment they need, covered by insurance.
Our Impact
OCAN Recovery Fund provides essential support by funding treatment and housing in best practice recovery homes. Grants are offered to treatment centers and recovery homes, along with public transportation passes and food access for those in recovery.
