Our Story

Operation: With LOVE from HOME began in 2007 when Lisa Huntley, a dedicated mother and Radiology Tech, sought to send care packages to her son, Mitchell Ray, a United States Marine, and his fellow troops. With the help of Kami Timm and a small group of volunteers, the first shipment of 134 care packages was sent to Iraq, filled with heartfelt letters, toiletries, and warm socks.

Community Involvement

As the initiative gained momentum, the Napa community rallied around this noble cause. In 2009, the effort expanded significantly, with dozens of collection bins set up throughout the area, resulting in 703 care packages sent to those serving in harm’s way. The outpouring of support from local schools, banks, and health clubs has been overwhelming, with over 100 volunteers contributing their time and resources.

Impact

To date, Operation: With LOVE from HOME has delivered a staggering 32,625 care packages, valued at over $2 million. Each package serves as a reminder to our brave men and women that they are not forgotten and that their sacrifices are deeply appreciated.
