Operation Song was inspired by Grammy-nominated songwriter Bob Regan during his tours at military bases in the Middle East. Recognizing the need for veterans to express their stories through songwriting, the program began in 2012 at the VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN. Since then, it has expanded to nationwide retreats and events, helping veterans process their experiences through music.
Operation Song has written nearly 1,500 songs with veterans from WWII to those currently serving. An impressive 90.4% of veterans and families report immediate positive impacts from the programs offered.
