Operation Shoestring
EIN: 64-0471554 · Jackson, MS
Our Story
Since 1968, Operation Shoestring has united a diverse coalition to address the needs of families in central Jackson. Founded in the basement of Wells United Methodist Church, this initiative emerged in response to the social turbulence of the 1960s, aiming to bridge divisions within the community. With a modest budget of just $600 per month, Shoestring quickly expanded its services to include a medical clinic, tutorial assistance, and food stamp support.
Our Impact
Operation Shoestring positively impacts hundreds of children and their families by providing engaging afterschool programs that foster academic success from pre-K through graduation.
