Operation Kindness

Our Story

In 1976, a dedicated group of volunteers envisioned a safe haven for homeless animals. Their mission was simple yet profound: to show kindness to pets in need. This vision led to the establishment of Operation Kindness, a shelter committed to providing shelter, medical care, and food for homeless animals while tirelessly working to find them loving homes. In April 2018, the shelter began renovations to expand its adoption center and animal hospital, culminating in the grand opening of the Rees-Jones Foundation Medical Wing in March 2020. In July 2022, Operation Kindness launched a Community Initiatives program to extend its impact across Texas.

Impact

Operation Kindness has facilitated 3,986 adoptions, distributed 158,576 pantry food and supplies, served 22,406 community pets, and performed 3,209 spay/neuter surgeries in 2024.
