Our Story

Founded in 1986 by dedicated employees of the Minnesota Department of Jobs and Training, Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless emerged from a statewide initiative to support food shelves. This nonprofit organization is committed to providing financial and technical assistance to homeless shelters, food shelves, and domestic violence shelters across Minnesota.

Impact

Open Your Heart has raised over $700,000 annually, aiding nearly 850,000 Minnesotans facing crises. Grants have funded essential items like mattresses and freezers, significantly enhancing the quality of life for those in need.
