Our Story

In 2003, a teacher at a government school in Chennai, India, reached out for financial assistance to construct a kitchen for their free lunch program. This request sparked a journey that led to the establishment of OPEN INC, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing education for underprivileged children in India. With the support of family and friends, OPEN was formally registered as a nonprofit in the US and India, allowing for greater outreach and impact.

Our Impact

Since its inception, OPEN INC has supported over 40,000 underprivileged children through grants exceeding $1.2 million. These funds have been directed towards scholarships, infrastructure, and operational expenses for schools catering to those in need. The organization runs a scholarship program benefiting 120 students annually, funding vocational diplomas and college degrees, while also supporting supplemental education programs in government schools.
