Our Story

Founded in 1975 by Willard Black, Open Door Libraries began as the Institute for Christian Resources, dedicated to providing practical resources for applying scripture to life. In 2011, the organization evolved into Open Door Libraries, focusing on creating non-threatening venues for sharing the gospel. The first library opened in Prague in 1999, followed by expansions to Berlin and Sacramento, CA, with plans for further growth across Europe and beyond.

Impact

Open Door Libraries serves as a community learning center, offering Christian resources in environments that foster relationships and dialogue about faith. These libraries are vital in areas with few evangelical churches, introducing local communities to Jesus Christ through various programs and events.
