Our Story
Open Door Home, formerly known as the Open Door Children’s Home, has been a beacon of hope in Floyd County and surrounding areas since 1927. Initially established as a temporary shelter for children affected by Prohibition, it has transformed into a vital resource for youth in need. Today, Open Door Home operates two group foster homes, a temporary housing program for runaway and homeless youth, and an independent living program for young adults aged 12 to 21.
Impact
Open Door Home provides essential emergency and extended care to youth who have faced neglect and abuse, guiding them towards healthier, happier, and more productive lives.
