Our Story

Open Arms Home for Children was founded by Bob and Sallie Solis in Phoenix, Arizona, after a transformative family mission trip to South Africa in 2005. Inspired to help children orphaned by AIDS, the Solis family invested their life savings to purchase a 70-acre farm, creating a nurturing home for these vulnerable children. The journey began with the arrival of Sifundo on March 16, 2006, marking the start of a mission dedicated to providing a loving residential environment for orphaned, abandoned, and disadvantaged children.

Impact

Open Arms is committed to offering love and security to children affected by the AIDS pandemic in South Africa. The organization aims to raise $850,000 annually to support the needs of these children from preschool through adulthood, ensuring that 100% of funds raised go directly to their care.
