Our Story

Since 1894, Oneida Health has been dedicated to providing compassionate care to the community. It all began with a treatment room established by the Presbyterian Church for victims of railroad accidents. Recognizing the growing need for local medical services, citizens rallied together to create a makeshift hospital in 1896. With the support of Oneida Mayor J. M. Goldstein, a four-bed hospital opened in 1899, marking the beginning of a long-standing commitment to healthcare in the region.

Over the years, Oneida Health has expanded significantly, with the first Broad Street Hospital built in 1906. The hospital has undergone numerous transformations, including the opening of a new 126-bed facility in 1972, which continues to serve the community today. The establishment of an emergency room, radiology department, pharmacy, and ambulatory surgery unit are just a few examples of how Oneida Health has adapted to meet the healthcare needs of the greater Oneida area.
