Our Story
In 2019, co-founders Jennifer Cortez and Revida Rahman joined forces to address the pressing issues faced by students of color in Williamson County. Initiated by a group of concerned Black parents, One Willco emerged from the Cultural Competency Council meetings, aiming to combat racial slurs, harmful assignments, and disproportionate discipline affecting Black students. This organization is dedicated to ensuring safety and equal opportunities for all children in the community.
Our Impact
One Willco advocates for equitable policies at the school board and district levels, striving to eliminate disparities in student outcomes across racial and ethnic lines. The organization works tirelessly to honor the unique identities of students of color, fostering an environment where they can thrive free from racism.
