Our Story

Established in June 1993, the After School Assistance Program (ASAP) was initiated through the Panama City Police Department to address the rising issues of juvenile crime and dropout rates among middle and high school students in the urban housing complex of Pana Villa Apartments. With the support of grant funding from the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice and collaboration with community partners, ASAP has successfully provided essential services to families and children in need.

Recognizing the program's success, ASAP expanded in February 1995 to the Massalina Housing Complex, thanks to partnerships with the Junior Service League, the Panama City Police Department, and the Panama City Housing Authority. Today, the program continues to thrive, serving over 800 young children and fostering a safe and supportive environment for their growth.

Impact

ASAP has made a significant impact by providing educational and quality of life opportunities that effectively address juvenile crime and dropout rates.
