Transforming Lives Through Mentorship
The journey of One Plus One Equals U, Inc. began with a young man named CJ Spillman, a Central High School junior with immense potential but struggling with motivation. Recognizing his talent, a chorus teacher introduced CJ to Margaret, the founder of 1+1=U. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of a transformative relationship that would not only change CJ's life but also the lives of countless other at-risk teens in the Greater Louisville Metro area.
Through dedicated mentorship, 1+1=U provided CJ with the support he needed to excel academically and athletically. With guidance and encouragement, CJ overcame setbacks, made crucial decisions about his future, and ultimately signed with Marshall University. His journey continued as he participated in the NFL Combine and signed as a free agent with the San Diego Chargers, later playing for the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII and the Dallas Cowboys.
Today, CJ embodies the spirit of 1+1=U by giving back to the community through free football camps for underprivileged kids. His motto, "Play it forward, pay it back," resonates deeply within the organization, inspiring a new generation of youth to strive for success.
