Our Story
One Great River of Louisiana, formerly known as Mothers Against Drugs, has been a trailblazer in promoting health and preventing risk behaviors among youth in northwest Louisiana since 1981. By engaging youth in experiential education within outdoor adventure settings, the organization fosters inclusion and diversity. In 1991, the programs were unified under the One Great River name, which has since become synonymous with innovative prevention strategies. The organization was honored with the National Exemplary Prevention Program Award in 1998, recognizing its status as one of the most promising prevention programs in the nation.
