Our Story

In 2000, a group of educators and artists united to address the urgent need for peace in Washington, DC, following a series of school shootings. One Common Unity was born from this collective vision, aiming to foster a cultural shift towards non-violence and compassion. Over the years, the organization has positively impacted over 35,500 youth and their families through innovative programs, nature retreats, and community dialogues.

Impact

One Common Unity’s holistic programming engages youth, families, and educators, leading to a significant shift towards peace in the DC area. With initiatives in 52 schools, the organization has trained over 12,000 educators and produced numerous artistic works that inspire change.
