Our Story

On Belay was founded in 2004 by Crescentia Healy-True, a devoted mother from Durham, who, after being diagnosed with breast cancer, sought to create a supportive community for her daughters. Recognizing the lack of suitable programs for children facing similar challenges, Crescentia established On Belay to provide adventure-based support that fosters resilience and connection. Through her determination and love, she built a program that not only addresses the emotional needs of children but also empowers them through shared experiences.
