Our Story

Founded in 2002, OLA of Eastern Long Island, Inc. (Organización Latino Americana) is dedicated to advocating for Latino communities across the five East End towns of East Hampton, Southampton, Riverhead, Southold, and Shelter Island. This nonprofit organization believes that an inclusive approach fosters a stronger community, where respectful dialogue and shared accountability lead to meaningful change. By building solidarity among community members, OLA aims to create an East End that fully recognizes and embraces the contributions of local Latinos.

Impact

OLA has successfully vaccinated over 6,200 individuals against COVID-19, provided more than 800 rides to medical appointments, and distributed over $1.1 million in crisis aid and rental assistance. Additionally, OLA has engaged 275 police officers in training to foster better community relations.
