Oklahoma Women in Technology

Our Story

Oklahoma Women in Technology (OKWIT) was founded in 2016 by four visionary women who recognized the urgent need for a supportive community for women in the technology industry. After facing a lack of representation at a tech event, they took action to create an organization dedicated to encouraging women in STEM fields. Within a week, OKWIT was established and hosted its first event, which garnered overwhelming interest. Since then, the organization has focused on education, sponsorship, networking, professional development, and philanthropy, impacting thousands of individuals and awarding over $30,000 in scholarships.

Impact

Since its inception, OKWIT has provided career development to thousands of Oklahomans, brought mentorship programs and education to over 1,600 students, and awarded more than $30,000 in scholarships to support continuing education in STEM fields.
