Our Story

The OKC Black Alumni Coalition began as a university course assignment in the 2018-2019 academic year, initiated by five students at the OU School of Social Work. This initiative focused on supporting Black students and families during a significant school consolidation plan in Oklahoma City. Formally incorporated as a nonprofit organization in the fall of 2021, the coalition aims to leverage educational connections to create sustainable solutions for the Black community.

Our Impact

OBAC is dedicated to increasing the social, political, economic, and educational capital of the Black community in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area, addressing systemic barriers in education and advocating for positive change.
