Our Story

The Ohio Coalition for Adult Protective Services (OCAPS) was established in 1984 to enhance services for adults at risk of abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Following the passage of the Adult Protective Services law in Ohio, OCAPS has been a leader in advocacy, education, and collaboration, significantly raising awareness about elder abuse.

Impact

OCAPS has created a strong statewide presence for elder abuse awareness and prevention in Ohio. Through advocacy for funding and legislative changes, the organization has improved the quality of services available to vulnerable adults.
