Our Story

The Ocala Royal Dames for Cancer Research, Inc. was founded in February 1987 by a dedicated group of women in Ocala, Florida, committed to eradicating cancer. This 501(c)(3) organization is entirely volunteer-run, with a passionate Board of Trustees and members from diverse backgrounds. The Royal Dames actively fund research and educational projects while staying informed through updates, reports, and tours of cancer research facilities.

Impact

Over the past 34 years, the Ocala Royal Dames have raised over $4,000,000 for cancer research, providing at least $100,000 in grants annually to researchers at the University of Florida Cancer Center and Moffitt Cancer Center. Their funding has led to significant advancements in cancer treatment, including Proton Therapy and Keytruda.
