Our Story

The O'Brien School for the Maasai was founded in 2006 by Kellie and her daughter, Heather, during a transformative trip to Tanzania. Inspired by the local villagers' desire for educational opportunities, they established a school that now serves over 400 students. The school focuses on holistic education, emphasizing moral character and entrepreneurial skills, particularly for women in the Maasai community.

Impact

With a remarkable 100% pass rate for Grade 4 and 7 students on National Exams, the O'Brien School is recognized among the top 6% of primary schools in the Kilimanjaro Region. The school has significantly improved education, health, and economic opportunities for the Maasai community.
