Our Story
Oakwood Community Center began as a pioneering multiracial Presbyterian Church in Troy, NY, founded in the 1860s. After its closure in 2010, dedicated members preserved the building, which became a hub for various neighborhood organizations. In 2012, it was recognized on the National Register of Historic Places, and in 2020, the community center acquired the building, transforming it into a vibrant space for service, culture, education, and celebration.
