Our Story

In 2016, Oaklanders united to make a promise to every child in the city, providing essential resources, support, and coaching from birth through their educational journey. With a focus on equity, Oakland Promise aims to empower children and families to realize their potential and thrive in higher education and careers.

Impact

Since its inception, Oakland Promise has directed over 79% of its funding to support young people and families in Oakland. Key achievements include opening nearly 1,700 college savings accounts and awarding scholarships to 25,000 students.
