Founded in 2001 by a collective of East Oakland educators, Oakland Leaf was born out of a need to empower youth voice during a time of crisis. With rising crime and a lack of outlets for expression, the organization launched its first program, the All Oakland Youth Talent Show. Over two decades, Oakland Leaf has transformed into a leader in youth development and out-of-school time learning, providing vital support and opportunities for the youth of Oakland.
