Our Story
Founded in 1993 by Linda Thompson and Vicki Vrankovich, the Oakland Girls Softball League began as the Oakland Bobby Socks League. Through dedication and hard work, OGSL has transformed into a vibrant organization that fosters a love for softball among young girls. With the support of countless volunteers, including coaches and team managers, OGSL has grown to serve over 300 registered players in its recreational league. The league proudly affiliated with USA Softball in 2002 and launched competitive travel teams, the Vipers, in 2003, showcasing the talent of young athletes in the community.
