Our Story
The Oakland Alameda County Coliseum Scholarship Foundation was established in 1980 by Coliseum Inc., the nonprofit corporation responsible for the Coliseum Complex. Under the leadership of founding director Robert T. Nahas, the Foundation began with two scholarships of $1,000 each for four years. Over the years, generous contributions from individuals and organizations have allowed the Foundation to expand its offerings significantly. Today, ten scholarships are awarded annually, supporting forty students in their pursuit of higher education.
Impact
Each year, the Foundation requires $242,000 to fund scholarships for forty-four deserving students, providing $5,500 per year for four years. This financial support plays a crucial role in helping students cover their college education costs.
