The Day Nursery

Our Story

The Oak Park & River Forest Day Nursery, founded in 1912 by the women of the 19th Century Club, was established to meet the needs of local working parents. Originally known as the Charlton Day Nursery, it has evolved into a nurturing environment where children can learn and play while their parents work. The Day Nursery is proud to be the only full-day program in the community accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
