Oak Leyden Developmental Services

Our Story

Founded in 1956, Oak Leyden Developmental Services has dedicated over 65 years to providing comprehensive programs for individuals with developmental disabilities. From its roots as the Oak Community School, the organization has evolved to offer a wide range of vocational and residential services for adults, alongside therapeutic and educational support for infants and young children.

Impact

In the past year, Oak Leyden has made a significant impact by graduating 98 children from its Early Intervention program and improving the lives of nearly 400 children with developmental disabilities. Additionally, 54 adults have been integrated into the community through family-style group homes, and over 1,200 pounds of produce were raised for the Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry.
