Our Story
Oak Hammock at the University of Florida is a pioneering retirement community founded on the principles of academic research and the belief in enriching lives in retirement. Established in 1999, this community emerged from the vision of retired faculty and alumni who sought to create a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) that prioritizes health, wellness, and lifelong learning. Since opening in 2004, Oak Hammock has welcomed over 850 residents and provided care to more than 1,000 individuals at its Health Pavilion.
