Transforming Lives in Wake County
In November 2013, a task force commissioned by the Raleigh City Council recognized the urgent need for a comprehensive solution to homelessness. This led to the establishment of the Oak City Outreach Center, which began serving meals in June 2014. With the support of over 70 faith communities and humanitarian organizations, the center quickly became a beacon of hope, serving 750 meals in its first weekend alone.
On April 10, 2019, Oak City Cares opened its doors as a multi-services hub, furthering the mission to provide holistic support to individuals and families at risk of homelessness. Located at 1430 S. Wilmington St., Raleigh, NC, Oak City Cares connects those in need with essential services, creating pathways to stable housing and renewed hope.
