Our Story

Nourishing Hope, formerly known as Lakeview Pantry, began in 1970 as a grassroots effort by a small group of women dedicated to helping their neighbors in the Lakeview community. Over the years, it has evolved into a vital organization, employing over 50 staff and engaging more than 6,000 volunteers to serve residents throughout Chicago.

Our Impact

Each year, Nourishing Hope provides the equivalent of 4.5 million meals and thousands of mental wellness and social services, striving to create a city where everyone has the resources for a dignified life.
