Our Story

Founded in 1903 in Brooklyn, the Norwegian Christian Home and Health Center has a rich history of providing compassionate care to the elderly. Originally established as a sanctuary for elderly women, the organization evolved in 1911 to include men, reflecting a commitment to inclusivity. The addition of a skilled nursing facility in 1973 marked a significant expansion of services, allowing for comprehensive care tailored to the needs of each resident. Guided by the principles of compassion and trust, the Home has remained dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for its residents, embodying the spirit of Psalm 127: "Unless the Lord builds the home, we labor in vain." This guiding philosophy continues to shape the mission today.
