Transforming Lives Through Education
Founded in the 1980s by dedicated educators Karen Appelman and Judy Callahan, the Northwest School for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Children (NWSDHH) was established to provide a better educational experience for children with hearing impairments. Disillusioned by traditional methods, they created a nurturing environment that has since partnered with over 20 school districts, serving 400 families annually in Western Washington. NWSDHH offers a comprehensive range of services for children from birth through middle school, ensuring that every child has access to quality education tailored to their unique needs.
